The stolen vehicle had a vehicle registration of 70C323 displayed at the time it was stolen. The radio station will use the GMC this weekend at a pre-scheduled event in Callaway from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
MECHANIQUEVILLE, Maryland – The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a motor vehicle theft that occurred in the 28,000 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville. The theft took place on March 24, 2022, around 5 a.m. The stolen vehicle is a black 1993 Ford Econoline van with an orange light bar on the top of the vehicle and registration number 70C323. The van is prominently featured with Southern Maryland Radio logos to include Star 98.3, WKIK and 97.7 “The Bay”.
The radio station also uses a similar van with the same markings, but this vehicle is a 1993 GMC. This vehicle is not stolen. Citizens are advised that there are plans to be at an event in Callaway on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
