Dr Andrew Connelly says that now the immigration parameters have changed, there is great interest from foreign nurses and other healthcare workers.

The last batch of nursing students recently sat their final exams and Manukau Counties are expecting an influx of newly graduated nurses in the coming weeks.

“It’s tough and it’s going to take some time, but I think we’re in a much better position to address this problem as a whole rather than through individual DHBs. I think we can use our collective strength,” says Dr Connelly.
